Why no love for Metro '65?

Why no love for Metro '65?

Postby modmark46 » Fri Apr 28, 2006 7:21 am

Over 100+ completed leagues, and not ONE championship in that park for anyone. Why is that? Seems like a decent neutral park that gives a rare, although slight (15%) advantage to RH hitters, Single wise. Is it that few people play there, do you think? Or does the preponderance of great LH hitters prevent people from mastering it? Anyone ever win a ring there? Just wondering... :?:

I've won a couple leagues in Metro.

Ol' Pete, Mullin, Root, Wilson

boone, B. White, Barrett, Boyer, Pesky, Cleon, Gorman and Reggie Smith was one.

Pfiester, Cicotte, Camnitz, Lea
Cochrane, Powell, Maz, Weaver, Trammell, Yaz, Devore, and Gorman was the other.

I'm pretty sure I've won 1 or 2 there. Thing is, Fenway 86 gets the job done better.

Metropolitan is more or less a straightforward neutral park like Sportsmans 46. I think the reason there's no love is that there's a lot of managers like me that don't have success in neutral parks.

I had a few playoff teams there in ATG1 but haven't used it in ATG2.

It's a neutral [i:96c4f7ce4b]home run[/i:96c4f7ce4b] park but one of the very few parks in ATG that actually favors righties with the 12-7 single differential. That's the only reason I use it.

My biggest hope for ATG III is more varied park selections. 1969 and 2006 have parks that significantly favor righties. Hope III does too.

Nice team. Impressed with Doby, and in a park that doesn't favor LHs, even. I can't get that type of performance from him, even when I put him in slugging parks, or lefty leaning parks like Municipal or Yankee 56.

He beats out bunts alot. If you like Bowa you should love Evers. He was my back up for McDougald who I only used once before and he sucked then too. He may have a hard time getting his job back once he gets off the dl

I just had a 106 win team with 4 20 game winners in Metro. I have love for the M. :)
