Didn't think Chapman was in the equation, but I'd go for him above all the others, especially at Forbes.

Bill,

IMHO when comparing Bush to Peck, you pick up alot of speed, some OBP and only the 3 game injury risk.

When you compare Bush to Concepcion, you pick up alot of OBP and only the 3 game injury risk once again.

And yes, his errors can kill you, but so can having Al Weis as your starting SS for 15 games a season .......

I have Bowa in two leagues, batting him #8 in all cases, and in no exaggeration, he's made the "boxscore highlights" in about 15% of my wins... all of his RBI seem to be key hits, late in the game and several in the same game... he's going to top 60-70 RBI's, with one of the teams playing in Forbes. also a 1e14... switch hitter, hits righties better, and decent speed... and only 2.49M... he's got my vote

Wow, this is your first team; it looks really good.

Keep in mind that I've only have about 20 teams, but 80% have been small ball/Forbes.

Check with the other guys, but I'd see if I could trade Pete for Speaker. Then pick up a good 6-7 million doallar starter. I always like Liefield, Meyer, Coveleski, Bobo, Derringer, Ford, Dean is a god, but most of the guys in the 6-7 are worth the money, plus they are good against HR hitters, so they'll hold the fort.

Barring a trade, is Crawford available, that guy cracks the smack out of the ball. There are better fielders out there, but hey, you can't have it all.

If it's possible to pick up a left fielder, so you can put Cuyler in right, he'll give those runners pause. Please check with the guys before you make any of the changes I'm infering. Especaily as Heathcote or whomever your RF is has alot of fans.

Also, keep in mind that I'm fine with having robots with metal claws playing in my outfield, so long as they can hit, and run, and walk alot; especially if I have a right fielder with a gun. By gun I mean (-3) or better.

You have many of the best Small ball players on your team in my opinion, don't panic if your team starts slow. I killed (and continue to kill) many a good team by dropping players after the season starts.

You can trust these guys to give you sound advice. My first division winner was basicly built by the community. I felt starnge relying so heavily on their advice, but building that team and watching it perform taught me tons.

Good luck.

Johnny Pesky just became avaialbe. I could do the following

Drop Dawson, Concepcion and Bishop

for

W.Wilson, Pesky, and either Evers or Gantner

What experts think?

I would hesitate a little with Pesky just because I always want a 1 at 2b, ss and cf on small ball teams.

Advice on team.

I am far from an expert, you have a pitchers park,a stellar starting staff, a great defensive team, some good speed, but not much power which translates into close games, which means that Pete Richert must save a lot of games.

SK - You don't necessarily need power when you have a pitcher's park team. It's more about obp and extra-base hits. I won a ring with a team in Forbes that hit 101 HR for the whole season. They scored 836 runs, but the strong staff allowed just over 600.
