DO PLAYERS PLAY BETTER IN THEIR "HOME" PARK???

This isn't about that type of mystery, sure Willie Mays will play better in the Polo Grounds than in Candlestick.

The mystery is why do lesser quality players play better in their home parks, such as Hughes pitching lights out in his home park, but getting shelled in other similar parks. That's the mystery.

The same logic that applies to Willie mays applies to all players. Of course there will be skewed examples when the rolls are in your favor or not, but if the SOM probability in creating the card is sound, performance is purely statistical and calculable. I think the mystery you perceive is imagined.

For the record I've had Hughes do well for me often-- he's one of my favorites and I'm not a big Ebbets user.

I think the more realistic you set up the environment the closer you will get to that player's real life stats. Putting him in his own park makes half the games very similar to his real life environmnet.
