It's not that I don't like the idea of platoon, but he was upside-down on the money split.
IF you are pretty balanced vs L/R, then you probably want your platoon to be balanced as well. To get that, you spend more on the Vs. R half, because Vs R hitting is more expensive than Vs L hitting. Consider Jay Alou. Someone who rakes vs R as well as Alou does vs L would cost about $2.5 Mil.
Now, if you are kind of unbalanced to the Vs R, then yeah, it's okay to go upside-down on your platoon, because you want to even your balance out.
