One last gripe...

Last night was my last league. It ended with my team tieing for 1st place in the western division. (My team did not make the play-offs).

In real life, there would be a 1 game play-off the day after the regular season ends. (Your head-to-head record determining wheter or not you get home field advantage.

In SOM, there is no 1 game play-off. Your head-to-head record determines wheter you go to the play-offs.

Just for the record, I would have posted this wheter my team made the play-offs or didn't make it. I think if TSN is going to charge their customers $20/$25 per game, this should be adressed.

BTW - I can't recall anyone bringing this up before. I have seen posts regarding play-off series length a number of time, but not one regarding regular season tie-breakers.

I am going to try and stay retired from SOM longer than Petro & Adrian.

I may be back if there is significant improvement when AT7 is released or they lower game prices.

But I am not going to hold my breathe...

I will just have to fill my SOM sim baseball void with Boxing on the Xbox kinect for now...

I will miss this most about TRW. There is a lot of griping and complaining
about different limitations to the TSN engine as a baseball simulation,
and it will never be perfect and it would seemingly be an endless battle
of the smaller and smaller stuff.

But Rapid seems to hit on the biggest single current limitation. In
real baseball, the tiebreaker is only used to determine home field
advantage for a 1 game playoff. IMO, I can't see any limitation that
would be bigger than this one.

I may have griped & complained over the last 5 years, but that was only because I really wanted to see TSN produce a top quality product.

My complaints were more from a business owners viewpoint than a customers viewpoint. I just don't understand how you can own a business & become complacent... Charge top dollar for a service and not truly care wheter your customers are satisfied with the product you are selling.

TSN hires one guy (Bernie) to handle all facets of the game. Don't get me wrong...I always give Bernie his due. He does a good job for the most part. Maybe a slip up here or there, but we are all guilty of that... on occassion. And maybe he promises more than he can deliver on. But, I don't fault him for that. You know he wants to produce a better product for his customers, he just doesn't have the resources. If TSN were serious about this game, they would have a staff of 3-4 people working on it, not just one guy trying to do everything.

...At least a couple of my suggestions were used over the last 5 years. (Using the Live Draft engine from the fantasy games for SOM & adding the 140m cap option..)

Someone showed me that written down in the back of a book"[/b:7ebb4a7ac1] - from the song - Only the Thunder Knows by the Alarm

The game will always be limited, and that is only because TSN is unwilling to dedicate the resources to developing & promoting the game.

And that's a shame & disservice to the customers who are still loyal & love the game that they grew up with.

...and that's the bottom line because TRW says so... 8-)
