For the folks who like to copy teams

[quote:d18e4f957d="rburgh"]I have seen a number of Petrosian teams. It looks to me like all you have to do to stymie him is to put Jim Kern high up on your autodraft list!

or Sadecki!

That is incredible. +344. Just think about how much better it would have been if I was in your league?

I'm also a big believer in Sadecki, and I can honestly say that it is completely and totally because of Petrosian. He was a big help to me when I asked for advice on my first team on these boards. Sadecki was one guy who he insisted on in my park (Royals '80). I've been using him ever since.

+447 equated to an expected 126 wins in a 2010 league......team won 128

Yeah absolutely great team Petro.

Elmer Flick sure went off. I've never used him but always really liked that cheaper card. Thoughts?

Yeah, but some players "best" are better than others.

Flick goes hot and cold. This year was a hot one. Other times in Forbes he'll hit .250. He was hitting around .360 most of the year. He's versatile. He can lead off or bat 6th equally well given his positive clutch. A useful player when you don't get your first choice in any of the OF positions. He batted sixth on this team, thus the 141 rbi's. I've noticed that my 5th and 6th hitters often lead my team in rbi's. Not sure why but no reason not to profit by it.

Artie: I can't divulge my settings. Nev would get very upset. I'm sure he's already unhappy with me for my stance on copying teams.

Don, how about posting those +300 teams. I want to see how many I contributed to (by losing in the same league). Also might want to copy a few myself.

As a new player (just finishing my 4th season ATG, with a couple in the hopper) I look back on the past leagues that I have played in to help formulate my plan for a new team. I have never played In Shea 71 so I looked back at teams that I have played against that were successful to see who did well. Bottom line It screwed me. I lost out on the top three players that I wanted for that park because other people beat me to them. I wasn't trying to copy a team I was just trying to use some knowledge and that failed. I'm sure the whole sale coping does happen but I think it's tough to pull off.

A question for you vet's. I just started in a advanced league on accident and I don't know what the difference is. Can anybody give me a head up?

Only difference is the ratings points the winner of the league receives, No in-season difference.
