Triples King Joe Evans is one of those anomaly cards. He only played 56 games in 1920 -- his strat card year -- and hit 9 triples in 172 AB even though he is a 1-14 runner. In strat, he often hits 40 3Bs.
The reality is that in real life he was something of a power hitter in the wrong park -- The dimensions in Dunn Field in 1920allowed for a lot of long balls to stay in the far reaches of the park for triples.
