Here is my list of most desirable at each position (Fantasim), why they are rarely used now, and a reason or two why I think they should be added:
C - Bill Dickey, 15-game injury risk (3/11 rolls). Poach 1937 and his PAs are more than 600. Use goes way up.
1B - Mickey Vernon. 599 PAs = 15-game injury risk. Poach 1953 when he led league in BA and 2B.
2B - Buddy Myer. Poor defense, current card not representative. Poach 1935 for bullet-proof batting champ.
3B - Bob Elliott. 15-game injury risk (3/11 rolls). Poach 1947 MVP season and use skyrockets in thin position.
SS - Rabbit Maranville. 15-game injury risk, sub-par season. Poach 1922 for 0 injury and better stats.
OF - Cy Williams. Current card not representative, injury risk. Poach 1922 which is closer to career stats.
OF - Cy Seymour. 15-game injury risk. Poach 1905 for MVP season, will become very popular in small ball.
OF - Max Carey. 15-game injury risk. Poach 1922 and becomes bulletproof with better SB pct.
DH - Bob Johnson. Horrible defense. Poach 1934, better year, younger.
(amended) SP - Frank E. Smith. No card at all in ATG. 1909 was an outstanding workhorse year for him, lead league in nearly all counting stats, and a 0.95 WHIP to boot.
RP - Tom Abernathy. High WHIP. Poach 1967 for career year.[/b]
