Time for transparency.

I'm not entirely sure that we understand the pluses and minuses that we play under in the real world.

Strat is the real world to a strat player. That is the whole point. In life we are bombarded with circumstance that we cannot control or perhaps even understand. Strat gives us an opportunity to have a little control, or at least preceived control. The dice may still beat us, but they even out over time, so to us it comes down to the decisions we make building our team.

It is to this point that we ask for transparency.

BB-
Thats very well said.

I think we can understand that there is some randomness in the game-
We just want to know what the parameters are.

Its fairly clear to me that there are a number of these factors which we dont know about-
I dont think it matters the particular way in which the code adds the plus or minus, just to know that its happening and under what circumstances.

Id bet my sweaty T-shirt that there is a momentum +/-
both for individual players and teams.

My thinking is simply that we want to get as close to the original dice-rolling board game as possible-
Meaning strategies that we used etc.
But that means we gotta know what factors are affecting those rolls/percentages.

Control is strictly an illusion we embrace to avoid the really scary truth that randomness is the only constant.

Rush is a great band-
They were an early influence of mine along with Bessie Smith,
John Coltrane, Sting, Steely Dan and Billy Strayhorn.

...but, If I can roll the bones so to speak- can I at least get a basic understanding of the weak nuclear force that might be influencing their landing?

BTW- thanks for posting the link- Its nice to listen to some of this stuff again...

In a completely unrelated subject...

Can we get more filters when searching for players?

ie. Sorting by triples? Sorting by + clutch?
