Average 162 game season for Sanguillen over his 13 years:
602 PA, 25 BB, 37 K. (4% BB, 6%K)
That's contact.

Well, in his three games behind the plate, Cookie went 4-10 with one run and one RBI. He had an OBP of .454.

He faced two base stealers and gunned one down. He allowed one passed ball.

Not sure how many bunts/pop-ups he fell all over himself trying to get to.

HAL did inexplicably move Lindstrom behind the plate in the 8th inning of game one of the series.

The lesson I take from this is, in situations where I have to choose between a defensive backup C and Rojas, I may actually start Rojas at C against particularly lead-footed or steal-averse teams (as this team was). For now, Cookie will backup Miller Huggins through the duration of his 11 remaining games on the DL.

My team won one out of 3, as befits its .370 winning percentage.

Nice work for Cookie. He may be a tough Cookie but he is no Cookie Gilchrist.

In the continuing saga of the season-where-I-can't-catch-a-break, Sanguillen went down for 5 games, and, the very next game, Berg went down for 3.

As a result, Cookie Rojas spent three more games behind the plate last night. He hit .267 with 2 rbi, gave up 3 stolen bases (all to Ichiro) and caught no base stealers. On the season, he's throwing out a robust 25% of base stealers.

Because Bagwell went nuts, I won two out of three and now boast a .378 winning percentage. I'm on the rise, baby!

Meanwhile, also in this league, Pagnozzi has 28 rbi and is on pace for 101
