I would make your little group a trifecta and include Aaron Rodgers in your group of over-hyped NFL QBs. Before Aaron, there were apparently no QBs of any consequence, since he is already the greatest ever, singlehandedly bringing QB play out of the Dark Ages. The media is not interested in hyping Tebow, they relish the point at when he he will fail. Which he will eventually, and Boomer etal will crack smarmy jokes.
That display yesterday when all the commentators bowed their heads was nauseating.

That display of ignorance by the CBS broadcast crew yesterday was contemptible; it's effect was tempered for me when I consider that the four that did it are not exactly excessively cerebral, to say the least.
As a Steeler fan, I am always bemused to see Cowher, who was brutish and petulant with the media when he was a coach, occupying the second guesser's chair on the set.
As far as "Boomer" goes, the less said the better IMHO.

It's not a question of the bandwagon. It is the way that every broadcast leads with Tebow discussion, every story on the Broncos starts with Tebow, every montage has three times the Tebow, every fade in from commercial and fade out to commercial had a 75% of being Tebow. That is not really a bandwagon so much as a wagon hitching, as in, the NFL media (and by extension, the NFL) have latched their wagon very tightly to Tebow. It will be massively amusing when he comes out of the closet or gets caught with hookers and blow.
The build up of Aaron Rogers is a distant third behind the World of Tebow and the Beatification of Tom Brady and Belichek. Maybe even behind the doulbespeak around responsible play and the love affair with the hard hitting Steelers and Ravens. Yeah, I'd slot the Salvation of QBdom from the Dark Ages by Aaron Rogers behind the insaneoverhype of the Steelers/Ravens toughness length measuring contest.
Ah, back to the NBA soon. Where things just don't bother me as much.

At the end of last season's Super Bowl loss, Big Ben said he had something to prove. I don't know what that was, but the Steeler fans already knew about Murphy's Law. One game does not make a season, Oh yeah!!! The Broncs were 8-8, and look where they are at!!

As a Jets fan who saw my team ride a mediocre to bad QB ride a good running game and a very good defense to consecutive 6 seeds and two consecutive AFC Championship losses, I would suggest, D-Boy, that you hold the "Look where they are" comments until they make or win the Super Bowl. It's a long way from where you are to where you want to be.

Just a couple of things from a Denver based Broncos fan:
1. The media has definitely over-hyped this Tebow business.
2. Tebow is getting too much credit, from various media, for the Broncos success. Tebow himself knows this and doesn't encourage this. The coaching staff, starting with John Fox, deserves a boatload of credit for what the Broncos have achieved, thus far. The team (offense, defense, special teams) also deserves a boatload of credit for stepping up and winning when it matters most.
3. Tebow has his share of critics among the Denver media. While there are those on the Tebow "bandwagon" many see the flaws and limitations and wonder how much "upside" he will have as a quarterback. Only time will tell there.

As one who saw every Broncos game this year (on TV as I don't have a season ticket) there was a definite change in attitude and self-confidence on this team when the coaches made the switch to Tebow. You could see it in the way the team responded to him, particularly in the snarl and the swagger the offensive line developed with Tebow taking the reins.
4. Tebow is not taking any of the credit for the Broncos success. He is giving the credit to the team and coaching staff. This is a class move on his part, in addition to being accurate.
5. No doubt, Tebow has a ways to go in his development as a pro quarterback. He has much to learn, yet, about the pro game. He knows it, the team knows it, the coaches know it, and management knows it. However, he is a winner and his team believes in him. Tebow possesses the confidence and intangibles that inspire his teammates.
6. Say what you will. Denver won their division (yes, an inferior one at that) and qualified for the playoffs. They won their first playoff game. Tebow was a major part of both events. Again, but so were the coaches and the rest of the team. I don't think either would have happened if Tebow is on the bench and not under center.
All of this has been fun for those of us in Denver. We'll all see how long the ride lasts as the post season continues.
Besides leaving town, the other good thing Josh McDaniels did for the Broncos was drafting Tebow (albeit, too high) and Thomas.

You're probably right bigmahon. However, win or lose football will continue to be fun in Denver, because there is a lot of excitement and hope for the future, if not for these playoffs. And, with the wierdness that has been the Broncos season, who knows but that their season will somehow continue after the New England game this weekend.
