Ok, there's some interest. What I was thinking is very basic.
1. First season DD draft or draft on the threads here. I'd hate to start this off relying on the auto draft. Too much potential that someone gets screwed. Make one round for unique parks.
2. After the first season everyone can protect 3 players. Then we have one round of stealing players, worst record steals first. Then protect 4 more players. Then autodraft to fill out teams.
3. You can only have the same player for 3 consecutive seasons. This carries over for trades. If you trade a player during the 3rd season, that player is still considered to be in the 3rd season on the new team.
4. Change ballparks at least every 3 seasons.
5. Cap TBD. I prefer $100mil DH 5/10/20.
6. Petro isn't allowed to draft Dale Murray. j/k
Andycummings had an interesting idea on how to limit the player pool by using card year. I'm not sure if limiting the player pool is a good or a bad idea for a keeper league. I'll let him explain it.
Obviously, anyone who signed up here is under no obligation to join if you don't like the format that is decided on.

OK, we have 12 interested managers. I'd like to reiterate, if anyone wants to back out of this aft the format is decided upon, that's fine. Its not like this is only 1 season. Nobody will hold it against you.
I suggest we hammer out some answers to these questions:
1. Should we limit the player pool and add new players each successive season? Andycummings suggested starting with players whose card year ended in '00 or '01. Then add '02 for the second season. Etc. Another way to do it would be to start with DB era players and add new eras each season. Or possibly split up AL and NL players.
2. Should there be a steal round each season? It could be where the team with the worst record picks a player from another team, and so on until every team has picked. Teams can only lose one player. So, in effect, the last team to pick would only have one roster to chose a player from.
3. What cap should we use? Like I said I like $100m DH, but if the majority like something different, that's fine.

Do you mean cards that end in 0 or 1 ?
Otherwise, the first season of the league is limited to 4 seasons of cards, 1900, 2000, 1901, and 2001. I suspect you can't field 12 teams with that restriction.
