Learning some interesting baseball history as a result of the 4 HR game and the hot start in general by Josh. Lot's first time since ______ stuff

One example: Most HRs in team's first 34 games since Cy Williams.
Had to look him up. A contemporary of the Babes playing for Philadelphia season in question was 1923. He finished with 41 HRs.

It has also been reported Frank Howard had a 6 game streak where he hit 10 HRs in 1968. That was the year of the pitcher when pitching so dominated the game they lowered the mound in response. Impressive.

Donny Baseball did 10 HR in 8 games (with at least one in each game) in 1987.

The 80's were a pretty tough time to put up great HR numbers. Not sure why it was, but the game's focus seemed to turn to speed and tactics for a while in the late 70's to about 1990.

Forgot about Mattingly. Didn't Griffey also have an 8 game streak?

Dale Long, Pittsburgh Pirates - May 19 through May 28, 1956
Don Mattingly, - New York Yankees - July 8 through July 18, 1987
Ken Griffey, Jr., Seattle Mariners - July 20 through July 28, 1993

Those are the three who hit home runs in 8 consecutive games.
