More managerial controls such as bench (lineup subs versus for RH and LH lineups) and bullpen options (mop up, long, set up, and closer versus RH and LH batters).

Oh, and Wayne Terwilliger plus Negro Leaguers

Why not create a few teams (two to five) of nothing but All Stars... they don't have to come from the same team or era.... nothing but great players... since we normally just draft players instead of teams, it wouldn't matter who was on what team.... also, why not have the same player but on two different years/teams... how about having two "Hey Willies" in your outfield....
