Bernie, you're killing me! You said that you could only check the day after the game. If you notice, I posted it at 9 this morning. I really want to know HAL's logic on this one, since it cost me the deciding game 5 of the semifinals.......

Why was Giuisti left to ptich to Cobb with three lefties in the pen, with two of them having not pitched in the previous game.

You still looking here Bernie?

I want to reiterate a previous query, with an example of my own.
While it is not necessarily a RP issue, it is about relieving a pitcher.
Ojeda is trailing 2-1, yes he's allowed 11 baserunners and 100 pitches in 6 innings, but he was not fatigued.
Settings: Ojeda - slow hook
So why would HAL pinch-hit for him to START an inning. Bottom of sixth, Buckner in for Ojeda.
I would never pinch-hit for a starting pitcher with NO runners on base before the seventh inning, unless his fatigue factor suggested I do so, like Lolich (S6*) as an example.
So, why did HAL make such a move?

I am hoping that there are settings like that available in ATGIII.

I'm sorry, but I am not actively monitoring this thread anymore; I thought I had announced that. This thread was never intended to be about me explaining certain decisions the computer makes - it was about getting examples from you so that I know what to look at. It definitely served its purpose. I had made a lot of progress with the improvements but had to get switch gears for a bit to work on ATG III. I fully intend to resume my efforts with a vengeance.

To answer the last question, which has been asked before: Slow Hook does not mean "consistently leave this guy in for longer than a Normal Hook." It means "leave this guy in in this situation more frequently than normal" - in other words, there's still a chance, albeit a smaller one, that he will be taken out in a Normal Hook situation.
