ATG new card teasers (new for Wed. 9/14)

Postby The Rivs » Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:11 pm

and Frankie T... looks like fun.

and my 2 cents is Ruth should have a pitching card and a batting card they should be separated as such and you gotta buy both to get him on both sides of the ball. Ruth vs. Ruth matchup will happen, roll out the stats on that one just for laughs. The fun never stops.

My first thought when seeing the Thompson card was ...
How long before someone combines Thompson and the Chief and goes for the team triples record. :D I see that falling in about 2 months.

So, Bernie showed us 27 cards. 14 hitters and 13 pitchers. Of the hitters, 7 were LH and 7 were RH. 5 of the hitters are IFs and 9 are OFs (some can play the IF also, but not their best positions). 10 SPs, of which 8 are right handed. 1 lefty RP and 2 righty RPs. I wonder if there will be others added that he didn't show, in this first batch? :)

Can you imagine the frenzy if you drafted a team prior to seeing the new cards and as the league drafts and frenzy kicks off the new cards were added at the same time with pricing seen for the first time?

Here is your team. A second later 27 super cards suddenly become available....

Looks like basically a complete team. Might make an interesting them league where one team gets all the new cards, can only use the new cards, and has to use the new versions. How well would that team do?

Anybody else notice that Sam Thompson is "W" vs. lefties but has 3 ballpark HR on that side? Weird.

I suspect that compensation for missing on Jackie will be Sandberg, the #2 Biggio card, or the #2 Lajoie card.

Anybody else notice that Stanky is the only one of the 3 hitters with K's on his card? (And not very many.)
