To trade takes a lot of patience and self control as it is easy to get frustrated.
I always look at an offer I make/receive as the beginning of a negotiation to see if we can make a deal. So I like to counter. If you look and no deal is feasible, then say so.
The classic frustrating case is the manager who mails they want to trade, who lists players he is willing to deal, who you make an offer to, and they do not respond or counter offer. :?
There is too much expectation of win/lose in trading by managers, they will not deal unless they they can gain a significant advantage. Got an offer of Suttles for Gehrig the other day ... I countered, but got no response or other counters ... I guess you know what they were trying to do.
