200m Francise Theme...League Created load at will p/w inside

So that I am understanding this right. We have rights to players on our franchise. That I get and where players are carded to 2 chosen franchises you battle out for them. Then what players are protected? I ask only because Houston, Montreal and Toronto are FAs teams. With Boston having Pedro and Clemens and cards to those teams would they not be protected from being drafted? Same should go for Bonds being that Pittsburgh is not taken then Bonds should be protected by San Francisco and not available to be drafted as a wildcard. Not sure if anyone else feels this way. Looking for a little clarity on this issue.

Your Boston Players are protected however for those players that appear on multiple teams they can be snagged...Bonds can be claimed as a Pirate by anyone but Bonds Giants can only be claimed by Giant franchise...The Giant franchise then could convert Bonds to a Pirate as one of his free agents...same thing with Pedro et all...

So basically Bonds is available to whomever gets luckiest (or craftiest) in the autodraft. There is no advantage to being the Giants in this regard. You draft the Pirates Bonds, then convert him after you have him. Many players fall into this category.

You cannot convert Bonds to a Giant....You cannot use any player that is specific to a franchise in the League...Ruth Pitcher Red Sox...only Red Sox can use...Bonds Giants only Giants can use...Joe Jackson Indians only can use etc...however Bonds Pirates, Ruth Yanks and Joe Jackson White Sox are eligble for all

No one can pick up a player assigned to a specific franchise then convert him...that would not be in the spirit of the law...Ie Twins franchise drafts Giants Bonds then converts to Pirate Bonds...not good...but Pirate Bonds drafted and can use him as Pirate all year long

OK, sorry to be dull on this. If I draft Bonds Pirate and get him, I cannot change to his Giants card down the line. I have kept him from the Giants in this instance, but can only use his non-Giants card.

ARod the same way for me. I will draft him (Rangers card) and place him at no. 1 on my AD card. Someone else can go after his Yankee card as one of their 3 free agents, but with so many other free agents on the market, not sure they would want to risk missing out on their first round selection to try to keep him from me.

I think I see the dynamic now. Dop I have that correct?

Thanks
