[quote:b4c15c9de3="hveed"]forgive my ignorance, but if the fantasim cards arent really SOM cards, why have they been included in the ATG set at all?[/quote:b4c15c9de3]\\Because people want the monster years from [b:b4c15c9de3]everyone[/b:b4c15c9de3] and they are the cards to which Bernie has access.

Mathews seems like just another homerun hitter, nothing special. I don't think his card should be included in the fantasim inflated card outrage. He is #29 on the leader board playing home games at Yankee71.
Games 87
AB 335
Runs 53
Hits 80
Doubles 8
Triples 5
Homers 33
RBI 79
Walks 46
K's 90

OBP .330
Slg .588

The thing about Mathews and Arky's card is that they have a lot of errors. I have Mathews on one team where he has 22 errors in 90 games, with the 3 rating at that and I should have known better but felt his offense would make up for it-not even close-he's definitely a defensive liability. He's DH material next time I use him. Given that there are so many options available even at smaller caps for both hitters and pitchers, fielding might be the decisive factor in building a title contending team. whereas before you could get away with 140-150 errors on a team and still win rings, I think now you need to have under 100 errors to have a decent chance to get a ring given a competitive league.

I appreciate the team links, however, what was the level of competition?
