ATG III Team Teasers #20 & 21

Man, I hope he is cheap, because he was one my favorite players and I would love to use him, but a 4e53 is a tad much for my blood at 3B and I can't really see using him as a DH unless he is cheap cheap cheap.

Great choices!!!

For the last two I'd like to see the '79 Astros replace the '86 Astros & the '91 Twins replace the '86 Yankees  OK the '67 Red Sox.

Scary, I recall wishing for an upgrade Ted Kluszewski and got him. Wow, surely my birthday is just around the corner.

For those of you who like the '78 Red sox added, who, besides Fisk and Rice will you be using??? :? Maybe Fred Lynn if he's cheap enough, and those pitchers wil have HR's all over their cards. Bernie could have chose a better Red Sox team. :x

Well, I am real happy with these picks. Rice gets a card for his best season, Fisk and Lynn get represented, a Dewey upgrade. Tiant will be used. I replayed the 78 Red Sox season about 6 months ago with the super advanced set. Hobson is definitely a DH only. His defense is atrocious, but would provide some useable power if he's cheap enough. Glad to see another Reds team as well. My guesses for the last two teams? A different Twins, Astros, Tigers, Phillies, Cardinals or Blue Jays. That should cover it, I think. And to answer TJ, my TOP Red Sox choice would have been the 41 Sox, just to get Williams unbelievable +.400 season in to the game. Other than '41, this season or the 75 one would have been my choices. :)

1968 Bob Gibson?

Postby divad » Tue Aug 01, 2006 4:31 pm

So, if I get the Bob Gibson and/or Musial I want, I'm going to lose my 1934, 1946 and/or 1964 Cards?

I personally would have taken one of the early 1912-1915 Red Sox teams.

1915 would have given us some nice pitching...

Looks like Keeler is out if the last two are replacements. Either that or we get a pretty weak Keeler...

'75 Red Sox were a better choice. Rice doesn't have that great a card in '78. Wait till you see it. Another Fenway creation. Neither does anyone else on the team.

Looks like no '61 Tigers. That is really too bad.

One commonality among all the new choices seems to be a lack of legitimate speed. Looks like there will be no stolen base records set in ATG3. Very disappointing as I was personally hoping for some of the record setting SB seasons like Rickey's 130 and Brock's 118 to get represented. We need those guys to truly have a fair test of speed verses power.
