2nd Annual Las Vegas ATG Tournament--June 23rd & 24th update

I might be... I could be...

I could attend any of these dates, but I've never played the computer version. What teams/players are available. How does the draft/tourney/season go?

(1) We all show up in this conference room and what happens next?

Last time around someone(penn) inputted all the cards from the online version into the cd rom game and they played a tourney using teams they had drafted in advance. Basics of that are accurate anyway.

So, it's the same game we play online except we show up to drink and watch HAL do his thing with pre-drafted teams? I was sort of hoping for a LIVE draft where we stand up and say, "Arkinals, from the not-so-great state of Arkansas, with its' first pick takes Pete Alexander!"

Last year, we drafted our teams before the tournament. Once in Vegas, we auto played a season to determine tournament seeding. Then we went head to head on laptops for the tournament portion.

A live draft was held for the people who got bumped from the tournament early.

Nothing’s set in stone as of yet. Personally, I’m going to push for zero auto play and 100% head to head. I’m not sure about the viability of a live draft on the first day, but it sure would be a lot of fun…

Hal is not invited. You play the games and make the decisions.

I think you might find an opportunity to live draft a team for the online version or a netplay league while there. The NY gatherings have done that. Seems like its been a while since the geeks invaded the big apple but I could be wrong....

To answer some questions...this tournament will be head-to-head. No auto play. There will be rules for the head-to-head matchups so the tournament doesn't drag on. The people who offered to help can assist with the ground rules. We will need a number of laptops so that's another task to solve. Each laptop must be ready to go by the tournament dates. People attending will pick their teams here before the event and all of those teams must be loaded on each laptop. There will be time for a live draft(s) during the event. Once I pin down the dates then I will get people involved with helping to put this together. My doctor appt. next week will give me an idea of my surgery date. That is crucial for me trying to plan this event. I'm really trying to get penngray involved and I see he isn't listed for every weekend. Harry Lime has offered to help although he's not coming. I am excited to do the event again but getting help is important this time around. My expertise are in setting up the tournament with lots of food and drinks, getting prizes and gifts for the participants and hosting the socials. lol....Bobby

Like me during the 1st tournament, you will learn very quickly while drinking lots of beer................ :D :D

I know Version 11 is out but it will be easier to coordinate Version 10 since many in the community already have it.
