While the tease does sound like Ruth, the pitcher, I am not sure SOM would allow that right now. The Ruth pitching card is in SOM's 2010 Hall of Fame set, and that card is marketed and promoted as "exclusive" to the set. It is a prime selling point.
So, to provide a counterpoint, since Bernie used the phrase "All-Time Best" and not "All-Time Greats" I wonder if it is something different. Perhaps a managing great with a card? Connie Mack (1889, 1890)? Or a pre-modern era "great" not in ATG, such as Tip O'Neil (1887)? Or a Best from another sport? Deion Sanders?
