Ironman catchers in live draft leagues -- BAD NEWS!

Postby bkeat23 » Sun Jan 01, 2012 4:24 pm

First, thanks for all the well stated replies to my tangential questions.

Second, I trust the guys joining tonite's live league to not swap out injured cards as I've requested on the thread. Such a league specific yet non-TSN based rule seems reasonable, and some in this thread have agreed.

For me, while the injury card swap and swaps for matchups wasn't a red-herring, even if it was off topic.

This thread was getting a lot of attention, and had I started another it would have been ignored

BK-

I would consider joining the league- and if I do, will OF COURSE follow the injury rule.
I suspect many don't feel super strongly one way or another about the rule because:
My hopefully last point is:

[b:5b6c3afdd4][size=18:5b6c3afdd4]Its about all of us playing under the same set of rules[/size:5b6c3afdd4][/b:5b6c3afdd4].

Not a problem. I'm in the league with you tonight, even with the two minute clock.

I would have joined but the two minute clock is a torture, especially when people still use the entire time, round after round.

I also think that if one card gets injured, all the cards for that player should be injured for the same period of time. An easy fix, but still not one relevant to the two catcher thread.

Then again, maybe I'll get to pick ahead of #8 but not likely. Besides it's either that or be forced to watch some chick flick with my wife.

Why are catchers injury proof!

Postby hackra » Sun Jan 01, 2012 4:54 pm

The solution to this debate seems very simple to me.

Would it not be solved by letting the cards play as printed?

Let that last catcher take his 15 game injury and have Hal throw a non-catcher behind the plate if there is not a backup.

I understand the rule requiring 2 catchers, but do not understand the programing issue that allows your only catcher left not to be injured.

Bernieh, in your rebuild if you JUST let the catchers get hurt this all goes away :!:

anyone out there disagree?

Im still going to Pets house for the chick flick...

HAL does a better job of drafting than I do anyway.

Petro - Bridesmaids...

Seems like a ChickFlick, but has enough moments of hilarity in ways that disqualify it from the genre.

Slow start...but....

If Blazing Saddles around the campfire is a knee slapper, there's a scene in Bridesmaids that takes an exponential leap beyond. My wife asks me to tell her when it's over, as she's averting her eyes. I'm laughing so hard I spit.
