featuring Hofer Gaylord Perry, should-be HoFer Bert Blyleven, Doyle Alexander, Mike Hargrove, Toby Harrah...

* Whether a year's card set is [b:08955bcb88]Super-Advanced[/b:08955bcb88] or not was a significant factor in our team decisions. SA card sets are sets that Strat-O-Matic officially created and released for that year, which include more accurate data (such as ballpark HR and clutch tendencies) than non-SA years. The 1966 Orioles (SA) replacing the 1970 Orioles (non-SA) is an example of such a move.

Other notes:

- Please refer to this thread for where I previously announced that ATG III will feature the option to play any of a number of pre-defined subsets of the master player pool, if you don't want to play with the entire pool.

- Since the team pool is growing so large, we are somewhat relaxing our "Greatest Teams" criterion for selecting new teams, and shifting the focus a little more towards the players. It's not a dramatic shift, but I just wanted to explain why you'll be seeing some 3rd place teams making the cut for ATG III.

- Error ratings WILL BE NORMALIZED across era, so you'll no longer have to worry about guys like Honus Wagner committing 50 errors a year.

Hargrove and harrah look interesting with their obp% and kurt bevacqua looks to have a very interesting card. A dramatic improvement over his previous card.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. No, we're not going to have Kurt Bevacqua's .333/.365/.604 in 96 AB on this team; he'll stay on the '84 Padres. And also on the somewhat long list of removals from this team:
- Bert Campaneris ('73 A's)
- Willie Horton ('68 Tigers)
- Claudell Washington ('82 Braves)
- Tommy Boggs ('82 Braves)
- Nelson Briles ('71 Pirates)
- Darold Knowles ('73 A's)
- Dock Ellis ('71 Pirates)

Yeesh!

Oh well back to .50 for kurt. It was short lived but this was his ATG moment of greatness.

Apparently it took him til he was almost 40 years old before he learned to take a pitch. One of my all time favorite scrubs who played 14 seasons and only had 2200 at bats, starting with the Indians of course.

No offense . . . but yuck.

It looks like the franchises that got axed after ATG 1 are coming back from the grave . . . Rangers, Angels. Maybe Alvin Davis and Jim Beattie are next. Anybody miss them?

It seems a bit strange as a third of the teams cards aren't even going to be used (7 guys on other teams).
