At what point does HAL insert them into the game?

usually in the 8th inning with a lead. Not a perfect system though by any means. I have had 3 run leads and HAL won't put them in. Not sure the exact criteria.

I've seen HAL put DEF subs in as early as the 7th inning. There is a inning/run differential criteria but I don't know what it is either.
