After staying up half the night making transactions, here's what I've got. It's a 100m DH league with a lot of bomber and semi-bomber parks. I'm in Memorial 83, with Dodger 77, Fenway 67, and Fulton Cty. 82 in my division. Mostly hitters parks in the league: Polo, Wrigley, Tiger 84, et al. My goal was to build something like an 80's Orioles team: pitching, power, good D, not worrying much about speed or smallball tactics.

Questions:
1) Do I have enough hitting? I'm going with Easler and Alex Johnson as a DH platoon. I went for more offense at 2B, going from a 1 to a 2, trading in Bobby Richardson (who can't hit at all) for Johnny Temple (who gets on base, runs fast, and clutches up). I have a core of Mays, F. Robinson, Santo, Cal Ripken, Fournier, Cochrane, Cuyler. I may be a bit too right-handed here?

2) Can I get by with 2's in the middle infield? It's normally okay in 80's. I never did it in ATG2, and the rest of my league has at least one 1 up the middle, but I'm going with Temple and Cal. Is the overall team D good enough?

3) Am I obsessing too much on the bullpen, not enough on the starters?

Thanks a lot for any reactions. Can't wait to start my new league! (Can any of us?)

You hit the nail on the head you are a little right hand heavy, BUT you may be able to get away with it because some of your right hand hitters hit right hand pitching better.

2's up the middle you should be fine although I perfer a 1 at SS.

You need good relief pitching in a DH league and you have it.

Outfield looks very strong very solid draft in my opinion.

Hey Pillpop. I'm in your league....the same division, in fact. For that reason, don't listen to any of my suggestions:)

I like your team. Looks pretty solid to me....although with this huge pool of players to choose from, EVERY team looks solid to me, including my own :P

Fournier was sitting out there a while and I seriously considered taking him, but instead got Goslin, who fit my leadoff needs better. Between Fournier and Cochrane (and sometimes Easler, I'm guessing) I think you should be ok as far as LH bats go....because like tbeamon said, your RH bats could hit anyone.

I wouldn't be too concerned about having two 2's up the middle. I was the guy who cut Ripken (for Yount). Had I not gotten Yount, I would've gone into the year with pair of 2's as well.

I love the way Righetti's card looks. He's a real nice fit for a hitter friendly league like this. He was my first choice as closer (ended up having to spend extra cash to get Fryman). I don't think you spent too much on RPs. If you didn't spend enough on SPs, then I REALLY must've underspent :)

Well, that's it. Take it for whatever it's worth....and GOOD LUCK! :D

Thanks for the input.

And Albert, with Ripper, Hornsby, Simmons, Yount, Doby, May, and the rest of your offense in Fenway 67, your team is going to be a bone-crusher.

It all starts tomorrow night!
