Postseason Record Books

Is it just me, or are you sick of seeing the postseason records trotted during the playoffs, and all the names are decent (but not alltime) players like Bernie Williams, David Justice, John Smoltz and Andy Pettitte? I'm not big on the whole asterix thing, but with respect to postseason, they should break the records up into: pre-69, post-69/pre-98, post-98, and World Series only. When you see the records set by players like Ruth and Mantle back in the day when you had 7 postseason games tops and only the #1 team in each league made the postseason, you realize just how great these players were. Now, a guy like David Ortiz or Yadier Molina can play in as many games in a postseason (19 if all series go to the ultimate game) as it would have taken 3 seasons for Joe D or Jackie to play in. So, as impressive as the records set by Jeter and Bernie and Andy, etc., they should make it clear that you have many more games to amass these stats in then the oldtimers.
