Initial plan was to combine speed of 16 or better with 1s in the field. Got just about all I could ask for and more. Schalk, Cobb and McCormick are the only violators. Couldn't pry Chance loose, not even for Honus straight up. Settling for McCormick for the rbis and price.

My problem is deciding whether to keep Ozzie or Honus. My initial thought is to keep Ozzie for the defense, but I'm toying with the idea of keeping Honus for his bat. That would leave me with some injury potential between him, Cuyler, Schalk, and Collins at third, but I can live with that.

I'd much rather see the Ozzie-Morgan up the middle defense. I just hope I get the good Morgan, not the .240-.380obp Morgan.

Any thoughts?

I would take Ozzie's D and 0 injury potential. Honus always misses so many games for me. But what do i know, you just whooped my butt in our finals match-up.

I just faced a similar choice and went with Ozzie, even though he'll have to hit #8 or #9 for me vs. RH...

Decided he was worth more for me thatn Wagner + Bancroft. It was a small park too, and Wagner's one of my favorite small ball players.

When I get Joe Morgan I like to have Wagner and Chance because their lefty bias will offset the loss of Joe's slugging % on right handers. With the team you have you can afford Wagner's injury because the lineup is amazing. I would keep Wagner to get a great hitter in the 4 or 5 hole with that team Wagner could get a ton of RBI's behind Cobb

With Cobb Cuyler Morgan and Speaker there is no room for Ozzie at the top unless you want to just force the issue and he isn't a middle of the lineup guy.

You could also take Fred Merkle for 1st base to give you the speed you are looking for and afford more pitching.

Morgan
Speaker
Cobb
Cuyler
Wagner

I can't imagine this team won't win 90+ with any combination of those 5.

But I know you love defense much more than injuries  so I imagine you'll take Ozzie

I'm all for cutting on offense to get better defense on SS

Most owners would get 90-95 wins from that nucleus; with PJ, I'd say 70-75. 8)

JEEZ!...I just want to know how the hell you wound up with Cobb, Speaker, AND Cuyler in the same outfield....Unreal...

Ed, the 70 wins would only happen if I had to face those damn Ruritania Roadkill every other night... :P

I'm leaning towards Wagner now, and I think you guys are right. I've got a similar team headed to the finals now (sorry Nev  ) that had Smith, but that one had pitching too. This team is short there, although once I free up money from the extra SS, I think I can piece together the rest.

Couldn't believe I got all the guys I put on my list.
