Leifield pulls a VanderMeer!!!

Thursday night, I had Lefty Leifield throw a no-hitter, and was wild in the process - 5 walks, 1 wild pitch, 1 hit batsman.
Saturday night, Leifield's next start, he threw a perfect game.

His opposing pitchers were Petey and Koufax.

His next start last night, he was pulled trailing 1-0 after six innings in a rematch against Petey.
So, his last three starts: 24 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 6 BB, 2 K, W-L 2-1. (yeah, he lost last night 7-3, damn bullpen)

Has anyone ever seen a no-no followed by a perfecto?

Never. I have had Pete and I have had Sandy and many of the best, and I've only had 1 no-no and no perfect game, and certainly never back to back. I once won a no hitter thrown against me, 1-0. I walked, stole 2B, advanced on a ground out and scored on another ground out.

The two were my 3rd and 4th career no-no's. All in Y56.
Ojeda threw one in game one for this same (or similar) team the last season I did. And Key tossed one in another season.

I am concurrently trying my first Forbes team.... and I'm doing it bass ackwards. Since EVERYONE writes about Forbes teams loaded with pitching I loaded mine with offense, hoping the park and defense would help my pitchers. So far, the team is three games under .500 after 87 games.
It is an interesting experiment - Cobb, Wagner, Rolfe, Mantle and Cochrane anchoring the offense (with a Lowenstein/Roenicke platoon, Whitaker and Waitkus). Tex Carleton, Papa Bagby and Cuellar are OK, around .500, while Tommy John is 14-4 with 6 shutouts.

I may have to try John in Y56 on a future team.

I will have to look, but I wonder if John can challenge for most shutouts in a season....

I've seen Pete Alexander throw back-to-back no no's, but I can't remember if it was in ATG1 or ATG2. I'll have to see if I can find the league.

I thought it was great when I had two different pitchers throw a no-hitter in the same season in 2005, never mind one guy throwing back-to-back nohitters.

Came close in 1969 league Gary Waslewski 2-hitter followed by no-no then 5 hitless innings next start and has 3-11 record In some ways real Just hot for a while
