my vote is for ernie banks. he'll produce in any park vs. righties or lefties and, most importantly... he can't get hurt! a great fielder at 2 e12 and is a bargain at 8.74 mil, perfect guy to build a team around

If $$ no object, IMHO it is the Mick hands down...still a bargain at almost 15 million!! :)

Banks is a great value. So is the Mick. Add Yount and Mays to the list, too.

Sam Rice is a tremendous value in a pitcher's park (or pretty much anywhere for that matter).

I've also always been a big fan of Don Buford, especially in a hitter's park and non-DH league. I use him a lot and he almost always nets a .380-.400 OBP. Plus you can slot him at LF or 3B.

I'll take Pete. He gives you a good chance to win every 4th game no matter how bad your line-up is.

The Mick

I'd have to agree that Mick is worth the 15 bones it costs to draft him. Had him in Forbes '09 and he still put up monster numbers.

Best pitcher for the price: Kid Speer

Best Player for the price: Kiki Cuyler can play in any type of park.

Best players to insure non-losing season

Pitcher Pete Alexander
Hitter Ty Cobb

Both are losing streak stoppers

Cobb & Cuyler are great values. But, I really like Duke Snider. I've NEVER had a mediocre season from him. Always hits .300 +, Always hits 40 + HR's, always drives in 100 + runs and he's a great fielder. (all for 5 mill less than the Mick)

Best pitcher - Pete
Best pitcher for the price - Pete
Best pitcher in Forbes - Pete
Best pitcher in Baker - Pete

Despite the offensive or bullpen sacrifices many teams make to take him, his overall winning percentage for all-time ATGII is approaching .640. No one else wins more than 60%. That's a stunning gap with all the talent out there.

Hitter - if you ignore position scarcity, I would take Lou Gehrig every time. A lock for 100 XB hits and can approach 150 in hitters' parks. That's more XB hits than most players get total hits. Plus he's bulletproof, not too unbalanced, and not a total slug on the bases or in the field.

If you take position scarcity, then I take Willie Mays. He won't get the average or OBP of the Mick, but he has unbelievable power and is a defensive showstopper.

Didn't even mention pitchers, felt it was so obvious...PETE'S 'DA MAN!!

Love Mays also....would put him right behind Mick....
