A ruthless bit of self-promotion...

I just noticed that of my [b:ee3a48bc8f]46 active teams, none of them are in 4th place.[/b:ee3a48bc8f]
I remember Munich Man posting a while back about a string of no fourth place finishes, so I'd thought I'd post this. Also looks like my next 20 teams to finish are all fair bets for the playoffs. So, hopefully, a few more titles may be coming my way. Gotta stay ahead of Mike (Frank Bailey). 8)

I can teach you how to build a clunker team if you are interested. I have a fair amount of experience.

Not one of my two currently active teams is in last place, either.

I've had a grand total of 6 teams and not one has had a losing record.
I think I should quit now since Petrosian's Agartha Panda Bears just swept my 101 win Power Rangers in the semis. There really is no hope.....

Forget the 4th place thing... relative to the number of teams you've got, virtually no one's in third place either!!!

Actually the Roosters who were in 3rd place yesterday, leapfrogged into first place last night. Sorry, Nev. 8)

I am trying to cut back. I think I only started 3 teams last week. But this week it'll be back to five (um, make that six so far) Too many frenzies. My goal is to keep it to 24 max, by the time my one year anniversary rolls around in Feb.

Toy Boys:

Don't lose heart. We had the two best teams in that league. Only us and the Minotaurs (95 wins but only +73 in the runs differential) won more than 83 games. You won 101, I won 97. Fate had us in the same division. 101 wins from one of your first teams is fantastic. And I believe you are in some other leagues with me and are always competitive.

I will say this. We were both in Dunn. You led the league in ERA, I was second but a half run a game worse. I had the 3rd best offense, you were 6th I think. I was +159 RS -RA and you were +184.

Here's the thing. When I saw that we were both Dunn in the same division I deliberately stocked my staff with Ojeda, Key, Merritt just to target your team in our head to head matchups. Ojeda and Key give up no ballpark singles to lefthanders. You have at least 4 lefties in the starting lineup: Collins, Doby, Yaz and Gardner. Plus Ozzie falls way off vs. lefties and Whitt is likely to see some action (if for no other reason than injuries). Point is Key and Ojeda nullify most of the effects of the park. Your staff was solid. Seaver especially is good in Dunn. But none of your pitchers took away the ballpark effects from my hitters. I think in a short series that gave me a significant advantage, in and of itself. Add to that Yaz and Doby lose most of their power vs lefties, and Murray is a little weaker too. I use Gardner a lot but as a platoon player. You used him every day. The only compensating effect for my lefties was Valentine. And he does lose all his ballpark hrs in Dunn. Your team only hit .240 vs lefties vs. 287 against righties. Mine hit .270 vs. lefties and .289 vs. righties. So while I can't say who had the better team, I was not surprised at the outcome. What surprised me was that we played pretty much even in our head to head matchups during the regular season. Anyway, great team. Good job.

The two teams in question:

From my teams:

1st - 5
3rd - 1

All others (76): .517
