Tough choice, Boggs or Mathews in Astrodome, I don't have to much experience with either and have never played in the A'dome before. Just looking for some opinions. Huntington, Wrigley '29 and Fenway '67 in my division. Opinions are certainly appreciated. Thanks

Off the top of my head I'd say Mathews.

On second thought...... Mathews

Seeing you're in the Dome I might choose Boggs. NOT!

Mathews, Mathews, Mathews

I woulda kept him but I neede to spend some $$$ on my pitching......

Not seeing the rest of your team, it is tough to tell. But just looking at the rest of your division, I agree with nev...Mathews has pop, Boggs doesnt. (Not to mention there are much cheaper choices to get OBP).

I used Boggs once. Had my second worst season ever. I'd use Iorg before Boggs.

Thank you gentlemen. I took your advice and picked up Mathews, had to downgrade a bit at SP (Marquard for Key) but I love Jimmy, he always does well for me, also picked up Roenicke, so I should be better off. Thanks again for the help, now if Mathews sucks I'm blaming you guys (ha-ha)

traderj, nothing is terribly wrong with Boggs, except for his severly negative clutch and lack of BP HRs. In any park, he is a pretty good choice for a 3 hole hitter, which, I think is the least likely to get an atbat in a clutch situation.

For the little in price difference, Mathews is HUGE compared to boggs, and, is great in any park, I even like him in pitcher parks.

If ya really want, I can go back and show ya 3-4 great seasons from boggs, from the 5-6 times I had him.

Same for mathews, he is just awesome, severly underpriced. If, this game were not so deep talent wise, he would be a 1st rounder at his current price.

Leo, I would like to see a couple of seasons posted if you don't mind. I certainly appreciate the input and hope Eddie lives up to expectations. Thanks again all!

Ok, thats it. I went through EVERY team I had/have, and that's all the Mathews & Boggs' I have.

Not one terrible season between them. Hr park, and lefty park, Mathews hits 40 HRs, severe pitcher park, he hits 33. Boggs, regardless of park, hits roughly .300 and 35 doubles. His OBP is huge in any park too, guess, he could be a lead-off hitter if needed, especially if your 2 hole hitter has NO GBA's.

Would say, hope this helps, but, if it were me trying to make a decision between the two, assuming I had other power hitters and other OBP guys, I guess it would be just a matter of taste, or, flavor of the day.

Taste and flavor of the day......if it tastes like Chicken, it's a vote for Boggs :D

While Boggs was in the news with all of his female problems??? Oil Can Boyd was qouted in The Sporting News as saying, "Old Wade has a problem. He needs to get ahold of himself."
