At first I thought it was a fluke that would iron itself out over the season, but I really thought I would get more from Joe Morgan playing in the Polo Grounds.

Wow, you're not getting much of anything from anybody, except for Lowenstein and McCovey. ouch. crappy O numbers in Polo, that's for sure.

Sorry, man.

You SHOULD expect some better offensive stats than what you are showing, in Polo. You are either playing in some killer pitcher's parks, and/or suffering more than your share of poor die rolls. As for Morgan, I have seen, and suffered from, several sub par seasons from him. Love his speed and defense, but I'll take Fox or E. Collins, for the $$, over Morgan, any day. Hopefully, some of your guys (Ott & Valentine especially) will get hot for you, yet. Good luck. :)

Morgan can be very hit of miss. Guys talk about his "unseen" value, such as his great defense, speed, etc...but frequently you see him doing just what he is doing for you.

I have had him several times, and about 50% of the time he puts up #'s that I consider "Joe-Like"....

I have drafted him again, on a fenway '67 team this time...hoping the "Good Joe" shows up!

I have Morgan on one of my teams and though he has a great OBP, steals and defense, I think that his $$$ price is way too steep. I'd rather spend the money on something else.

My comment may or may not mean much but here's my take . Morgan comes from Riverfront 13-13-11-11. That's where his numbers came from . Your at Polo 7-7-20-20. The 7's play like Comiskey '19 so its not a true hitters park . Joe is losing half his ballpark rating (13 to 7) on singles . So you have to expect lower BA. Red Schoendienst and Doerr are also good values with good D and some pop .
