1 Tom and a Turkey Theme League.

This Turkey may not fly, but I'll throw it out here.
$80m, no DH, Frenzy. Would like to fill for this Friday, but Saturday would be OK.
The theme, tied in to Thanksgiving, is that everyone must draft one TOM (or Tommy) and one TURKEY (a sub $1m POSITION player). These players must START all season for you. There are 22 Tom or Tommy's in ATG2, so a nice little pool of Tom's for the one round live draft. My thinking is we could live draft the first round of Tom's, then autodraft the rest. Your TURKEY could be any sub $1m player. Obviosly, there are some decent sub $1m players, like the Alou's, but remember, this will be a NO DH league, and your TURKEY must start for you all season.
That's it in a nutshell. Sign up with lottery state for the one round live draft of TOM's. Remember, we are shooting for a Friday (hopefully) or Saturday night frenzy.

I am down for it, but is there some way to avoid live draft? It is rather cumbersome to coordinate.

No, I am not entrenched on the one round live draft idea. Just thought it would be easier so that everyone didn't draft the same 2 or 3 Toms. :) But, this idea might be a little too offbeat for most, I fear. :(
BTW, if I didn't make it clear, the TURKEY must be a position player, NOT a pitcher. And, BTW, here is a list of the TOMS (Tommy's also):
PITCHERS -
Zachary
Seaver
Sturdivant
John
Bridges
Henke
Phoebus
Byrne
Morgan
Seats
POSITION Players -
Haller
Agee
Henrich
Leach
Hutton
Herr
Brookens
McBride
Davis
Matchick
Pagnozzi
Taylor (the .50 one)
AND, even if you draft McBride for your TOM, you must still draft a seperate TURKEY, even though McBride is a sub $1m guy. No loopholes here!

So, you DON'T believe that domesticated toms DON'T fly, or you believe that they DO? :)

I will never forget the episode of "WKRP in Cinncinnati" when Mr. Carlson (played by the great character actor Gordon Jump) did a Thanksgiving promotion by dropping turkeys out of a helicopter. Who can forget Les Nesman screaming as the turkeys were "falling like bags of wet cement" in the mall parking lot.

Thanks for the memories geez. That's one of the greatest comedy show episodes of all time in my book. It's a shame that the series will never be released on DVD because of the licensing rights to the music.......
