Hmm, maybe HAL could use some work? Yes, this has been a topic for a looong time.

Here is a classic:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/league/boxscore.html?group_id=23032&g_id=267

Winning 4-0, HAL pinch hits for TF Brown in the 7th, brings in Red Faber to "close" it out, he gets bombed and I lose 9-4.

All too familiar of a circumstance, just get used to it.

stupid question

HAL is the game engine (computer).......

Nobody is really satisfied with what HAL does...but we learn to live with it. He hates me, but he seems to hate the other manager just as much so it all evens out.......

Other Games

HAL aside, and he can be vveerryy frustrating, SOM ATG II is a real challenge, but a whole lotta fun. Look at the best players in the game, most have winning % in the .530 range. It takes a lot of effort to get decent at this game, lots of great folks and many willing to share some of their hard won experience! The HAL issue is relatively minor IMHO.

I just googled "computer baseball sim game" and got over 2 mil hits. There are a few out there. Strat is by far the best one IMO. Agree with sschu, the HAL issue is minor.

Try it....you'll like it.......

And Netplay is available for those willing to replace HAL's mistakes with their own.

Ever since HAL had Sam Rice walk, steal 2nd, move to 3rd on a groundout and score on a groundout, so that I won 1-0 in a no-hitter (and no errors) thrown against me, I have forgiven him all the other miserable things he has done (and continues to do) to me. Such as pinch hitting for Koufax in the 7th inning with a no-hitter going, etc.... Come to think of it, maybe I HAVEN'T quite forgiven HAL.....
