I was never sure about this team and it is still a mystery. I had a credit and wanted to try some new things but they are not working that well. I am considering doing a Florida Marlins like fire-sale but I don't like doing that. Any thoughts? Brett would be the one I would look at with that $12m but he is an awsome bat! Anyway....................... Unsure at this point. Pitching is really stinking up the place right now.

Dean,

Not a Memorial expert by any means, but your SP are really weak & 3 of them are not well matched to your ballpark. You also have 2 offensive black holes at catcher & 2b. I'd scan the other slow starting teams for potential trade options; you can't afford to take the $2.5M cap hit cutting Brett would cause.

I am not so down on Schalk. Rather than characterizing him as a black hole, I would call him more of a poorly lit crawl space. He gets on base enough to move things on to the next hitter. I would definitely NOT drop Brett, the only guy with monster numbers on the team. I think with Brett, Mays, Jackson and York, you have a fair chance of slugging it out with most teams. I would focus entirely on the pitching and dump the several guys that give up so many homers. Hmmmmm. Maybe I would trade Collins in for somebody with a little power. Can't do a huge amount here. Maybe a platoon with Nettles and Wera, or Brooks. Geez. You are only 3 under. For my teams, that is a great start.

After reading your comments though I'm 16-11 in same league I still tried to put a trade offer out for Brett but giving you Bando and Battey For George and Schalk would have destroyed me trying to get money right I think a little fine tuning on P staff and I could see you in playoffs if I can get out of very tough division alive 1st after division play Don'y know your park but Kaat Cuellar and Petry on same staff led me to 105 losses one team but it was a early hitters league which I see very little of nowadays
