Bobby Doerr or Jackie Robinson for $60m Polo Grounds team?

Just for kicks, I am going against the norm and using a homerun park in a $60m no DH league. Many of my opponents are going with the more conventional Forbes or Astrodomes.
Can a homerun-happy Polo Grounds team win in a $60m league with many "small ball" teams? Has anyone had any luck with something like this?
It is the preseason right now. Here is my current budget distribution. Do I have too much or too little in some areas?
[list:c440ec8756][*:c440ec8756]Starting pitchers: $19m (31% of budget)
[*:c440ec8756]Relievers: $5.75m (10%)
[*:c440ec8756]Starting lineup: $32.25m (54%)
[*:c440ec8756]Bench: $3m (5%)

You have guts, I'll tell you that...just my first thoughts are, too much on the SPs, 1 ace and then go with the usual guys for Polo (Vance, Reuther, Cvengros, Vuckovich, Moore, Bagby, Hallahan, Yerkes etc) also I'd go cheaper at catcher, you already are covered from the left side, pick up a cheap good righty (Fosse, Lake, Howard, Torborg etc) and then I'd get one or 2 BIG sluggers (I don't know what's out there (Cepeda, Mathews, Bando, Mays, Snider, Cooper, Murray, York, Yaz etc)...I wouldn't play it any different than you would normally play Polo even in a 60 mil league

Not bad. Could use better RP. Taylor will get hit hard is my guess. Some ideal guys out there to save $$ with. Gedman, Crandall, Cash, Allison, Grubb.

Thanks guys.
I will definitely make some roster moves tomorrow. To start, I will upgrade Taylor and downgrade at least one SP.
I will consider downgrading Battey to upgrade another hitter to a serious slugger.
I guess my 40% dollars on pitching and 60% dollars spent on hitting looks good.
Other thoughts welcomed as well.

KT, you spent nearly all of your money on hitters. Should I go with such an unbalanced team, or should I leave 40% or some of my money in my pitching staff?

generally i dont spend more than 20-25% for pitching on bomber teams. You need more players with #HR in my opinion, any chance u can post a link to whose available in your league?

$15 mil too much on SPs
Cash and Parrish are decent cheap power. Oglivie is nice for the price. Mincher would work, Roenicke fits a platoon for cheap power as well, with great position versatility and very good OF D.
My be a high priced hitting stud on the wire once you trim pitching?
As it's been said, need more power.
IMHO, if you're going to spend on SP on this team, it should be Pfiester or better, and fill in with cheap guys and a solid pen. Excellenet suggestions above for cheap pitchers.
Good luck!

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
I downgraded SP, added Bando and Hodges, and made several other changes.
