Or is it just me? I've never been able to get him, finally got him on a Bennett 09 team and he went .280 with 11 HR's thru 100 games and I cut him loose. What's worse, I picked up R Collins and S Rice with the cash (cutting Luderus as well who was sucking ass too - .260, 2 HR) and Rice is playing well and Collins is, well Ripper. Why the fu** didn't I do it earlier?
How come I'm always getting the "down" year for someone I never used before? Is HAL trying to keep me away from certain guys?

no no no .... not that at all.... HAL just hates you and will screw up all your teams. What did you do to him anyhow?
As for Ott.... I have had him a few times and he has sucked every one of them.

He sucks from time to time. He appears to me to be extremely dependant on ballpark.
I've had good seasons from him too. I would only really use him in CF.

Ott has been at best helter skelter . On one team he's rather good and the next rather bad . He's always hit and miss with more miss than hit . Park makes a huge difference in his numbers .

I have never used him until recently, where I have him as DH on a long-ball team. After 27 games, he is hitting:
G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS BA SLG OBP
27 113 34 44 6 2 5 28 27 18 2 0 .389 .611 .507

Ott has always rocked for me the few times I've had him. Always in extreme pitcher's parks.

Count me in on the Ott fan club.
I'm quite happy that my favorite players are being dissed on the boards with regularity these days.
Anybody else hate Pete? That Speer/Frock combo has really sucked lately!

The thing with Ott is he only has 25 hits on his card. So you take away the 30 walks and that leaves him 25-78 which is a .321 avg. NOW, if he is facing more good pitching than bad, let's say the average pitcher he faces has 20 hits and 8 walks, that leaves him with 45 hits in 178 atbats for an avg. of .253. with an ONBASE of .384 :D
Ott will always have a good onbase pct., but his avg will only be good in leagues where teams skimp on pitching.
