18 votes, 9 were correct...

What was the give away? I learned a lot from that experiment. My goal was to field a damn good hitting team ta Forbes, with a top 6 that was almost unbeatable and see if the pitchers I ended with would be able to work with the offense.
Tommy John was outstanding, and despite Bagby's 18 losses, I was OK with the 16 wins, but Tex Carleton and my fourth pitcher I can't think of right now was pretty awful.
Waitkus and Whitaker were sad, sad, sad.
Honus was OK, not an injury prone version, but only scored 91 runs batting second, thought with Crosetti as his backup combined for 115 runs if memory serves.
However, next time, I stick with Cobb and Honus and Rolfe but spend maybe 5-8 million less at CF and put that money toward pitching.
Not to mention finding better OBP guys fro 2B and 1B, but I was really going for D there when the money was running low.

73-89 was the correct answer.

I like putting hitting teams at Forbes, but your SPs would not be on my list of guys to put there, and getting a Collins/Gehringer type at 2b is a must. I also would not allocate that $$ to Eck, nor to Crosetti as a backup.

A team in Griffith or Forbes with both Cobbs, Mantle and Eckersely doesn't leave enough money for an overall balanced pitching staff/OBP team in a pitching park. That was why I guessed 73.[/quote:da3fe2baaa]
