Can you guess what shortstop put up these numbers on a recent Griffith '24 Team?
Games = 162
AB = 601
Runs = 97
Hits = 178
2B = 37
3B = 7
HR = 12
RBI = 63
BB = 75
SB = 57
CS = 17
AVG = .296
SLG = .438
OBP = .373
Errors = 45

Errors = 45 would seem to rule out Bowa and Trammel
Points to Wagner but that is the obvious answer
So assuming this is a trick question am rejecting him
SB = 57 say it was not Yount
That leaves Pee Wee Reese and Dave Concepcion
BB = 75 This points the compass toward Reese.
I am saying Pee Wee Reese

Valen,
That's the kind of counter-intuitive, backwards looking, forward thinking, shoot from the hip, play it by ear logic I was hoping to provoke.
Lemme know when you all give up ....... :lol:

162 games says it can't be Honus Wagner but stats point to him so it must be Honus and the reason you posted is that he played 162 subpar games

[b:81d5c9e343]BINGO, WE HAVE A WINNER[/b:81d5c9e343]
Right on the money! How many times has anyone seen Wagner play all 162 games??? Somehow, he managed to do it for me and yet he doesn't even hit .300.
Funny thing is he was having a GREAT defensive season by his standards until game 140 or so, when he dropped [b:81d5c9e343]FIVE ERRORS in one game [/b:81d5c9e343]on me!

Another vote for Honus. The dozen homers and 45 errors were the give away for me. No way Bowa, Trammel or Concepcion make that many errors, and Reese, Bowa and Concepcion couldn't hit a dozen taters between them playing all their games in Polo Grounds! As for Yount, he would have hit more than a dozen even if all of his games were in Griffith. In the words of Sherlock Holmes, "when you eliminate the impossible, whatever you are left with, no matter how improbable, must be the answer."
