This is why I steal bases. :D

Scoreless game, 8th inning, single by Brooks, pinch runner Hatcher comes in and steals second and third. Then scores on a ground ball. I win 1-0. :D

[i:db7aab8206] I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days[/i:db7aab8206]

In ATGI HAL once had Walter Johson steal home to win a game for me. That was AWESOME!!! :D

The catcher must habve been a +4, and the split card must have been a 1. Last night Mogride was pitching for me, and with runners on 1st and 2nd, he singled. The runners advanced two bases. So, then with a runners on 1st and 3rd, Mogridge steals second. I could have killed HAL, but it was successful.

bkeat - One of the all-time best movie quotes. And maybe the best sports movie quote. Another of my favorites from a baseball movie: "You trying to say Jesus can't hit a curveball?" OR "Ty Cobb wanted to play, but none of us could stand the son-of-a-b***h when we were alive, so we told him to stick it!"

And I have had a game won by the steal too. I think it was Cobb walking, stealing second and third and scoring on a wild pitch to win 1-0 or 2-1. It [i:91119ef2cc]was[/i:91119ef2cc] sweet.

I got bumped out of the semis by a HBP

There's a quote that James Earl Jones had as well, about baseball and life, love it.

"America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again."
