I need to burn a $200 team from a 50/60/80/100/200 theme league that folded after 4 seasons.

Not sure I'm understanding how each team "starts" the season or who qualifies for each Friday's FA signing.

Clarification

Postby divad » Sun Jan 29, 2006 11:03 am

(1) Seems you could re-roster an old team after the first frenzy, before the season starts. You would need to note old roster conflicts w/above rosters here before frenzy and drop other teams players ASAP after frenzy.

(2) Everyone qualifies for free agent process each Saturday.

I'll bite, but I am very fuzzy on the rules/concept. If you can only sign FA's that belong to your franchise, what do teams like the Twins, Mets and Braves do, since there are no early version of those franchises? In any event, I am confident things will get explained/worked out before we start, so I am taking a leap of faith. :)

SEE RULES CHANGES (Above): Sign Any Free Agent

Postby divad » Sun Jan 29, 2006 12:07 pm

I removed both the franchise restrictions for Free Agents and National / American League restrictions. All Free Agents are available to everyone.

I'm assuming the NY Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers 'belong' to the SF Giants and LA Dodgers, respectively.

Yanks will kill everyone
Giants and Braves win their division.
Mets, Twins and Dodgers have no chance.

Why don't you start with teams that have total salaries close to one another? I could post them if you like.

Then add to your franchise with FAs (that needs to be explained though)

(1) Yes, NY Giants/SF Giants and Brooklyn/LA are one franchise. Mets now have 1986 to choose from!

(2) Since team w/ WORST W/L RECORD CHOOSES FIRST IN EACH OF TWO ROUNDS each Saturday, things COULD EQUAL OUT QUICKLY.
