thanx for response juma. i hope its a little better. i didnt get a good cf in the draft. im worried bout that. i thought bout downsizing 2b or lf to get a better 4th starter but i dont think that will help. so i think my 4th starter needs help. my cf is so so. and i dont think i have enough obp for forbes.

Hey bud,

The higher the on-base the better with a park like Forbes.

I haven't checked your FAs, but I would look for Cochrane or Seminick instead of Carter. And I love Alou, but I am concerned here that he may not perform like you want....

Wagner, Rolfe and McCosky are great!

Your pen looks great, but get ready for some micromanaging, with your 4th SP spot, and the occasional Wade closing a game (instead of Beggs) scenario - he will, trust me.

DO NOT drop Carter!

I would drop Herschberger for a .50'er though.

Just some thoughts, but look at some of these guys. Doran for the "D". Garman over Wade. Drop the CF platoon, move Alou to CF and grab Keller for LF (McCosky RF). I don't know if you'd have enough cash left, but I'd look at a rotation of: Pete, Hughson, E. Wilson & Nolan.

Great core of guys to work with though.

Just some random "MGD" early morning thoughts. :D

Good luck and have a great season!

Tim

I agree with tkl on dropping Hershberger and making those OF adjustments. I'm not a Doran fan, though I'm not big on Gilliam either. If you need cash to upgrade SP, Gilliam is the one I'd downshift.

Pitching - Spahn and Derringer aren't the best values, but they aren't bad in Forbes. Your 2 main RP are more home run park suited - higher WHIPS, no BP HRs - but they won't kill you. To save a mil, I might look at Richert or T Martinez in place of Perranoski. And your 4th starter mix isn't a bad idea, but Yerkes and Horton are not ideal, again because they are better in neutral/hitters parks. Look for guys like Faber/Rommel/Wilks/Burns.

For a 4th OFer, I might consider Becker, although Paskert is alright too.

For a 4th *ed SPer, I might consider Petry. You are in a pitcher park, there is a 'stick in your division, and that sportsmans 46 wont kill him either, spot start him in Shibe tho.

Peranoski, very easily could be turned into Fosnow for this division also. If you do that, then, there might be enough money to carry Boyd as a 4th SPer, and, he would rock in that division.

One more thing, you desperatly need a back up 1b (think D. Johnston .50 cents)

Johnston's sweet isnt he? Good ba, OBP, and def, and, ya dont lose the lefty bat, and, as an added bonus, he is a B for steals, and has a * for running....

Should cost atleast twice as much as he does....
