[quote:a93ad59ba5="Gavman58"]Howdy, all. Well, this is my 4th team and I've yet to break 70 wins. We just had our draft and here is my team. Any suggestions for Waivers from some of you with more experience?

Link not working. It brings us to our own team......I was ready to tell you how much I like Kaat and Boyd

Go to the stats page for your league, click your team, and paste that link in.

Can you list your team pitchers and hitters and your park? At least than we could see the team and give input. Have you tried the go to the stats page, right click on your team than copy and paste the team to the posting here on the board?

a few ideas

Postby errormagnate » Thu Feb 02, 2006 3:47 pm

One - mixing * and non-* SP is generally a bad idea and especially in this case you really do not get your money's worth out of Reulbach - I woul get a good *SP to fill that position.

Two- Doby is kind of wasted in Candlestick- good def but his power will vanish on you - might look at Dom Dimaggio if he is available for similar D and similar price.

Three- Kuntz too one -sided for your regular LF.

Those are just a few ideas.

couple things--
Teams in extreme parks need to capitalize on the lack of homerun possiblity for opponents by picking pitchers with low whips but you occasionally give up the dinger. Offensively, you need guys with base speed and who hit for extra bases (not homers)

More specifically
Your pitching staff is not set up very efficiently. Candlestick is an extreme pitchers park so guys like coveleski aren't usually necessary and reulbach is overkill. I wouldn't mix three * pitchers with Reulback either. I'd think about losing Reulbach for sure and picking up maybe Drysdale, Lolich, Seaver, Hughson, Mayer, Nolan, hunter, guys of that nature. Unless you are playing in a lot of sluggers parks on the road, I'd lose Perranoski and maybe pick up drabowsky, mcanenay, Bob Miller, T. Martinez, D. Hall, R. Taylor if they are available.

offensively, you need to streamline a bit. Its hard to say without knowing exactly who is available, but you should lose Bergman, Knight and Kuntz and try to pick up some guys to play OF and 3B with foot speed (1-16, 1-17) and who rack up lots of extra base hits. Medwick is on the FA wire a lot, Dawson is good, maybe Steinfeldt, Rolfe, or Meusal. Doby isn't going to hit a ton of homeruns in that park, so I'd think about getting at least one more guy with some pop--maybe a Furillo, Cooper, or R. Collins.

Just some ideas.

From those players you have I have experience with....

No prob at 2b and SS.

As said, Doby isn't a fit at the Stick.

Too many $$ RPs, thin hte pen a little.

I'd hang on to Aguilera, I've had luck with him.

Good luck.
