Well nuts! Yet another morning waking up to a 3-12 record. I've got one team sooo bad they've lost 20 of their last 22 games! At one point I was better than 100 games above .500 overall. My last 16 teams have dwindled that to 4. I started out avg a championship almost every 5 teams. Now, it's all I can do to save myself from being double digits out of first place! I started drafting players that usually kill me when they're on the other guy's team....and then they kill me by underperforming for me. I have some teams where my nickel backups are out hitting my starters. I'm talking Ott, Aaron and the like! I've lost more one run games or games in extra innings than I care to recall. I've lost games on appeal plays, fan interference, pass balls, wild pitches and any other way HAL can think of to screw me. I draft a pitching team...they don't pitch. I draft a hitting team...they don't hit. I draft for balance and everything collapses!
I know others have had ruts like this but boy does it get frustrating after awhile. I should be used to this being a Detroit Lion's fan but still...
I feel like Kevin Costner in "Tin Cup" when he got so bad he needed to attach all the "golfers aids" to himself to improve his performance!
Ok! Rants over. I feel better! Now where's my stinkin credit card for another try at this confusing game?

There once was a man from Nantucket
who ATG II he did suck at
last place he did own
his personal throne
HAL's foot firmly lodged up his bucket!

Simon my brother, I feel your pain, I have one team so bad, ( I think you're in the league with me) that I let HAL field my team and set my lineups, it doesn't work so I don't advise it. Now join our 60 mill waivers league and ease your pain.

seems to be a trend. i had a great run of playoff appearences. kept losing in the finals though but atleast getting there. i still have 3 teams active and as of now they are all in the tank. 2 more getting ready to run and for some reason i dont see success with them either. just keep plugging away. and like that old train story keep saying I THINK I CAN

Don't feel bad. I've been in a slump for about two months. I even had eight straight teams miss the playoffs. Never had more than four in a row miss before. So much of this game is random variability over the short run (which is something like 2000 games from my perspective). I figure it all evens out and the cream eventually rises to the top. Except where I work. There we say the shit floats to the top.

We ALL feel your pain. Anyone who has played this game awhile has gone through several (probably) runs of terrible luck, bad teams, flukey losses, etc. Even the top players, like Nev, Frank Bailey, Petrosian, and others, have their failures. Let's face it, you have to have at least a little masochist in you to keep coming back for more. So, fellow masochists...I SALUTE you! :)

lol Your all right of course! Masochistic tendancies we must have to keep coming back for this! My last half dozen or so leagues, I find myself looking at the standings and trying to determine not how many games out of first place I am....but how many games behind the wild card!
