A frenzy is a league where there are no waivers. As soon as the Autodraft occurs (usually between 12:07-12:15am EST), all free agents are immediately available, first come, first served. The term "frenzy" refers to the fact that everyone is madly drop/adding in a flurry, and there is a "frenzy" of free agent activity. Yount is on the FA wire? EGADS! Can I grab him before someone else? :) You get the idea now? Lots of fun. Main benefit of a frenzy league is sitting up in anticipation of it, and you get the instant gratification of shaping and honing your team. Unlike in a waiver's league, where you have to wait for two days before you can actually make any changes to your team. Weekends are the big time for frenzies, usually, as most can sit up and participate, with no work in the mornings. However, usually one or two frenzy leagues will also fill during the weekdays.

Leagues can be set up to bypass waivers. The teams draft, then the free agent pool is available immediately to make roster changes. Frenzy refers to the mad scramble to pick up the best remaining players for your roster on a first come, first serve basis.
