Great, more bad news!

Just got back from the Doc. My knee is screwed up bad enough that he feels It is out of his realm. Now I need to see somebody who is really good at lateral posterior corner reconstruction. I "might" be better in a year. Anywhere from 10 to 90 percent disability and that is just the knee. Maybe my nerve will grow back and my drop foot will be ok. Yip friggin ee. They haven't even done anythbing for my shoulder. The good news, my ankle that I've complained about for 2 1/2 months, has some torn tendons but will heal without surgery. #%#$%%^%%^%$%&

You have my sympathy! I'm scheduled for a total knee replacement next month. This is just so I can run again (maybe). I have a sharp pain in my shoulder that keeps me from throwing batting practice let alone a hard throw from 3rd base. I haven't even had that one checked out yet. I would say it sucks getting old except I still have all my naturally curly hair and...other things still work ok! :)

The Doc told me that even with a replacement, I wouldn't be running again. We'll see.

Ya know, it's funny about that. They keep telling me different things, I will but "limited", I "won't" and it "shouldn't be a problem as long as it's not a marathon." I wonder if anybody on here has actually had their knee replaced. I'd sure like to know if I'm gonna have to hang up the ol' rubber cleats!

....is not worth the discount. Just kidding. Our only other option was to die young. Good luck on your knee deal, simon.
Will be 65 April 8, this year. Have been very fortunate with my health. VA has been my only medical insurance for the past three years. The "Free Enterprise System" put me out of business with my health insurance carrier. Nuther story for nuther time. Keep the faith, simon and grindi. :)

That's tough news, Grindi. It's no fun getting older. I am still on the fence, in regards to whether I will try to squeeze out one more season of softball this spring/summer. Have played forever, but I'm not getting better with age. Still pitch very effectively (Modified FP), but my offense has declined the past 4 seasons. No major knee/shoulder problems, thank God. Just the usual tendonitis joint pain stuff. Nothing popping some advil won't handle. On the other hand, I DON'T have much hair left! (Just turned 50 in December). Goldwater64, you might be our most senior player. You should lobby TSN for the Senior Discount with your teams. :)
