According to Diamond Dope..BA, OBP, and slugging listed in order

Simmons
L - 520,529,1019
R - 515,524,1010
Speaker
L - 492,619,731
R - 507,594,742

Simmons has much more power, which in my mind is more important in Fenway generally speaking. However, you do lack a true leadoff man, and with your lineup, Speaker would fill in nicely. Depends on what you want here, power, or OBP at the top of the lineup. Although I like Simmons more generally speaking, i think in your case, you need a leadoff man, so i would go with Speaker.

Goslin
L - 457,522,822
R - 468,532,836
Avila
L - 561,626,736
R - 424,456,623

Goslin is more balanced, and has better power slugging from both sides. However, if you keep speaker and goslin., that will give you 6 lefties in your lineup, which is a bit too many. I might go with avila over goslin just to give protection vs all the lefties you SHOULD see with that lineup, but check out your foes. If the staffs are heavy righty, then go with Goslin. But if you notice that teams are loading up cheap lefties for you, then I would take avila to make them think twice.

The more i look at your team, i would maybe keep speaker, and drop Ott for Simmons. I think you would find him to be more productive, and he would balance your lineup better. If you do that, keep Goslin.

Simmons
L - 520,529,1019
R - 515,524,1010
Ott
L - 459,605,922
R - 455,601,916

My .02 :)

Simmons all week long and again on Sunday.

As far as DH, I would seriously suggest going cheap and finding a bargain with some injury risk. Your lineup is almost completely bullet proof, with Bando, Fox, Ripken injury free. I would replace Salazar with a better nickel hitter (since you don't need a backup SS, 3b, or 2b), and go for a guy in the Adcock/McRae mold - a cheap RH hitter who is discounted for injury risk and terrible D but can rip the snot out of the ball for the price. I've had Adcock with an OPS of .850 in a neutral stadium, and had McRae go 45 doubles/25 HRs in a 100M league. You need the money to upgrade that starting pitching, and quickly.

I agree trey, but in this case , I think i would drop Ott for Simmons, leaving Speaker in CF, and have Speaker as his lead off hitter, since he really does not have one....

But in general, agree, simmons all day..... :)

Stupid question ... Did you have Al Simmons and drop him??? Cause if so, I'd have to say that was a bad mistake.
