Ever choke like this???

Ever choke like this???

Just lost another finals  (congrats Labrat!!! :D ). This one really stung because the matchups seemed so in my favor. My home park is Griffith and, up 3 games to 1, I've got Hughson, Pollett, and Pete to win one more game.

Wagner was hurt for games 1-3, so his return is a nice bonus to boot.

So what happens? El Choko. If Pete Rose or Rick Tocchett or Janet Jones were my pals, I'd be in a holding cell right now...as it is, I'll settle for a white room with no windows :?

I was once up 3-1 in the finals with Mordecai Brown, Jack Pfeister and Pete Alexander for the last 3 games.

WOrst HAL induced CHoke Ever

Postby DizandMiles » Tue Feb 14, 2006 2:57 pm

Yes I know - but it still hurts - Up 2-1 in the semis -
8-0 lead in top of the ninth - McNally pitching - gets the first two outs gives up a walk and homer - HAL brings in Stewart who proceeds to give up 6 more runs to tie the game (a gaggle of walks and a Grand Slam - meanwhile - I have a totally fresh bullpen and even Koufax available
Then Hal sac bunts with 2 on and no outs and Ripken up (overriding conservative bunt and don't bunt) me out of the meat of my lineup in the bottom of the ninth (walk Schmidt) and I lose in 10
Lose game 5 -

Just lost in the finals in 7 games with a Yankee 56 team. I have had five Y56 teams in the finals, 5 losses, 4 of them in 7 games!

The team hit 294 HRs for the year, but scored 1 run and had 12 hits in 4 games on the road in the finals!

Note the regular season from Stargell 8)

You just have to laugh! sschu

Here's a classic regular season choke...

Six games to go... lead two teams in division by 6 games. My team has best record in league.

We lose six straight to teams 2 and 3... they each also sweep the last place team. I finish in 3 way tie for division and lose tiebreakers finishing out of playoffs w/ second best record in league by 1 game.

Yea, I suck!

Also just got swept in final series to lose division and playoffs in an 06 theme league.

I can top you all!

I was up 3 games to none in the Finals of the Barnstormer's II Championship League with Babe Adams and Ruelbach going in games 5 and 6.
Ended up losing four straight and the last three by one run.
Probably, I'll never have another shot at ATG glory like that again.

Wow I was going to complain that I lost 3 straight 1st round series, the last because f...ing HAL brings in Dennis Bennett to let Gary Carter hit a tying HR and Joe DiMaggio to hit the winning HR off him. Oh yeah I had a rested Joe Beggs as closer both sides and bennett to AVOID RHP. But like I said I was going to complain until I saw this misery going on. Wow, I guess I will just build another team. Hey I think I'll get Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth on my team and try to kick HAL's as.. all over the place...
