As Bernie mentioned, part of the on-going changes to the ATG game we all love is the addition of new cards regularly (?). It is our input that will more than likely determine what cards get in. I know some of us are not necessarily thrilled with additional cards, but some of us are. The lists that are consultable have been pieced together over the last year through everybody's suggestions here and there. There are three lists. Batters, Pitchers, and Teams (the idea being that complete teams could be a way of adding important and not so important players as well as creating natural rivalries -- I have listed possibilities (by winning percentage over blocks of 22 years) but it is just a way of starting debate. By all means, make more suggestions either on the thread or pm me. I will do my best to update the lists with relative haste. Please try to be specific. If you say, "Jeff Treadway's Best Year", you may be disappointed if I put down 1989, when you wanted 1990.

Hey everybody!
First of all I wanted to give a [b:5e4f05a211]big thanks to george barnard[/b:5e4f05a211] for doing us all the big service of collecting and organizing everybody's requests. He took up the charge back when we were putting together ATG VI and he was/is a pleasure to work with. At the time SOM was only available to deliver a small subset of the request list, focusing on cards from 1980 and later. But of course g.b.'s work will remain as the basis by which we determine the cards you want to see and communicate them to SOM going forward.
At this time I'll be asking g.b. to send me what he's got so that I can move ahead with acquiring as many of the requests as I can for you. I do have to give the usual disclaimer that SOM will NOT be able to deliver all of the cards on the list, and in fact will only be tackling a relatively small subset again. This is simply the usual reality of their schedule and the work involved in preparing the data for use in SOM Online. However, I WILL be doing my absolute best to have SOM focus on the cards that are the most important, from a variety of eras, so hopefully I can make most of you happy.
For a bit more detail, the biggest amount of work that SOM has to do is preparing cards that they do not already have Advanced or Super-Advanced versions of in their library - particularly from the early part of the century. Those cards don't have the necessary Ballpark HR and Single readings on them for use in SOM Online, so SOM has to run them through some sort of process to add them. Frankly, I'm not sure why this process is so resource-intensive, but I give them the benefit of the doubt and trust that they're doing the best that they can.
The list of Advanced and Super-Advanced seasons from which it is MUCH easier for them to deliver cards to us is below. These are the years from which we much prefer to request cards... but that said, again, I [i:5e4f05a211]will[/i:5e4f05a211] be lobbying for as many important cards from other years as I can.
